The Flying Circus marked the start of Monty Python. All 4 series of TV shows aired between 1969 and 1974 in the UK are recorded in 7 DVDs, giving 1327mins (over 22 hours) of fun. The Monty Python mad-men gang was dubbed "The Fathers of Modern British Comedy" and marked the start of a new generation of TV comedy when it hit the mainstream. Topical issues were included but silliness was the main theme. The team's (Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin) classical education is reflected in some of the more esoteric pieces. The Flying Circus appeals to both young and not-so-young or serious audience.
